(Sam’s parents) and Sam Snitker (athlete), 2024 Minnesota State High Jump Champion and bronze medallist at the 2024 US Nike HS Nationals PB: 6’9”

Lisa and Darren Snitker (Sam’s parents): Sam joined the track team half way through the season his junior year of high school. At his first meet he broke the school record in high jump and won the event at 6.0. His competitor’s family approached us after the meet as they had heard this was Sam’s first time competing in the high jump. They highly recommended we look into Kangaroo Camp. Sam attended camp with Hugo that July. He came home from camp excited! He worked on the exercises and advice that Hugo had given him all summer. We started senior year at an invite only meet and he PR’d at 6.6. The very next day Sam was back training at Hugo’s. Hugo always seemed to know when and how Sam performed at meets. Sam continued to receive guidance and support from Hugo throughout his senior year. Sam ended his high school career as the MN 1A State Champion. He went on to the 2024 Nike Outdoor Nationals and placed 3rd as an All-American in the championship division with a jump of 6’9”. One thing about Hugo is, he is here to support his athletes not just at camp but all the time. Thank you, Coach Hugo, we appreciate all of the ongoing support you have shown to Sam.

Sam Snitker (athlete): When I first attended a high jump camp with Hugo, I had high hopes of improving and becoming a better jumper. I quickly learned that Hugo and his camp would not disappoint. Hugo was not only an amazing and very knowledgeable coach, but person as well. Hugo understands and sees things in the athletes he works with and creates a very individual experience that allows you to become the best version of yourself. Hugo truly cares about his athletes and there success down the road and that really shows. Hugo has shown tons of support to me along my journey and allowed me to become the jumper I have. Hugo makes it clear that he will always be there for his athletes along there journey and wants to see them succeed just as bad as they want to. I highly recommend Kangaroo camp if you want to see your true potential as an athlete and person!
